Gee, Son, Are You Tired?
Published January 30, 2007 aww , oh so tired , sweetness , tender 5 CommentsI have been neglectful in my mind-numbing duties of pouring myself out for you to see. So I’ve got two “Ten On Tuesday” posts for you today!
1. Sing. I’m finally admitting it. I do sing well. That is to say, I do not completely suck and get the occasional compliment when I dare sing loud enough for anyone to hear.
2. Dream. I’m a professional, you know. Big, fantastic dreams.
3. B.S. I can b.s. my way through just about anything. I make up stuff all the time that if you didn’t know better, sound completely true. Most of the time, they are, too!
4. Grocery Shopping. Now, I’m no Amy Daycyzn (the Tightwad Gazette chick), but I think I do pretty well. We eat fantastically, very healthy, and keep it to $100 or less per week.
5. Comfort. I like to think I’m a little more intuitive than the average cavewoman, and I feel like I have a bit of a gift in the comforting department. Sometimes (and you know who you are) I can’t offer the comfort that someone needs, but I’m willing to listen.
6. Sleep. I love my bed. We have a special relationship. Ever since my late teens, I’ve known that if I treat my bed right it will take care of me. Fresh, clean sheets, the right color conducive to relaxing, nice and cold, big fluffy pillows, no jumping, no spilling liquids on, nothing ugly in the vicinity, always brings me a good night’s rest!
7. Road trips. I have a master’s degree in them.
8. Gift-giving. Nothing pleases me more than giving someone a fantastic gift that they didn’t know they wanted or needed but are delighted to find that they do.
9. Party. I look forward to my birthday every year! I’m pretty sure I’m the only one I know that gives themselves a birthday party, but since I’m a control freak - it’s a must. And we always have a wonderful time, and this year is going to be one of the best ones, ever!
10. Baby Shower Games. I feel like I should stop going to baby showers because I ALWAYS win the games. I can’t help it!! I refuse to dumb myself down, but I feel guilty winning all the time. In my moms club, they have to hire someone with a PhD in early childhood development to develop games that I can’t blow everyone out of the water with.
Ten Things I Have A Weakness For
Published January 30, 2007 f.y.i. , giggle , meme , ten on tuesday 1 Comment1. Blue. Anything blue.
2. Food. GOOD food, not just any old food.
3. Music. I love music. It makes my world go ’round. You know that thing they say about the soundtrack to your life? I actually have one. It plays in my head all the time.
4. Office supplies. I have no real need for them, but I’m addicted.
5. Organizational supplies. You can never have too many, although I am not organized enough to use them myself, I still have a thing for them!
6. Netflix. I swear to you, God had me in mind when he gave those people the inspiration to create that business. I started out with two at a time, and now I’m up to five. Of course, one of those is actually for the kidlins (wink, wink) but really… I love Netflix!
7. Target. Back when I was still semi-unaware about how bad credit cards are, I went there EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They still know me by name over there.
8. Gardening. I’m not very good at it, but I still get a HUGE rush when my Burpee Catalog arrives every January.
9. Travel. I wish I could travel all the time. Ok, not ALL the time, but 95% of it. I dream of owning a silver twinkie. I’ve said that before. If you don’t know what it is, I don’t know if we can be friends.
10. Shopping. Which encompasses all of the above. Have you noticed how every single one of them involves, or can involve, shopping?
